my favorite old person trick is to look really unhappy for a kid when the adults with him/her say no to something. I have managed to get them to buy toys, an iced cake and sweets.

LOL! How would Canadians become members of that august society? We no longer have pennies, er, cents - here the nickel is the lowest denomination now...Mind you, I've still got a jar somewhere...
