The poem is such a nice play of words and images like the pleats of a skirt :)

Re: CCT
Chumpet is one good writer of poems. And a big thank you, as it's more of a compliment than I deserve!

Re: Shobana
Well most mature ladies wear slacks these days. I did like the mini skirts the last lady I saw wearing one was nearly seventy and she looked great.

The world keeps on getting warmer, although right now, we are not feeling it in Maryland...Trying to think straight when we feel various emotions can cause decision making to be tricky.

Re: Kabu
How can I lie to you, I was waiting for a delivery from Amazon the progress report on the computer showed it would be delivered 10th. I did not want to lock the porch and waited until nearly 11p.m. If Amazon had said it had been delivered, I would have sent an email telling them it had gone to the wrong address, So while I sat there fuming I just wrote the first scrubby piece and the other was probably a repeat. I shall have to let young Chumpet take over, I think. The parcel never came. It included a child's digging spade I have always wanted one.

Re: Taps
Well I suppose you could give them a rub,I am the worst one for cleaning cars. One supermarket I have stopped going to,because there are about 4 groups of men trying to clean one's car . They only use a spray of some sort which I fear might scratch the paintwork.

Re:PResta
I know RP and now l would rather read your poems than have to write one. I shall have to let Chumpet take over and just do repeats.

'....original emotion...' seems like the key to the whole poem. Very interesting, CC!

Writing poetry is hard, first in finding the words for that amorphous
emotion or idea, and second (more difficult) in having the reader hear what I meant when what I said was not quite that... You seem not to have this problem.

I tried to write a new poem today.
So far it hasn't worked out.
So, instead I went out into the frigid cold with a spray bottle of window cleaner and some soft rags and washed all the filthy windows all around on my car. Sitting here writing this, I suddenly remembered that I didn't clean the dirt off of the headlights.
