The poem was so much fun. Migratory birds may have a different behaviour pattern.

Re: Naut
Animals adapt although I did read today that a lot of common species are faltering. Not many thatched roofs or old barns that once provided nesting places. Perhaps they don't like car pollution who knows. Yes, sometimes the intellectuals wake me up.

Yes that's the way it is Bro. One would not get a miserly bit of land to build a small house on for under one hundred thousand.

Re: RPresta
No I just think the birds are nervous the little local sparrows and blue tits do not show the same symptoms. Yes we get a bit of luck sometimes from the alde rascal.

Goodness Pat it sounds as if your power supply is a bit shaky. I can't remember the last time ours went down and it was only for an hour or so. I think modern freezers would stand quite some time without power, but it depends on the weather of course.

Nervous birds? Must be something causing that. Dogs? Cats? People? I enjoyed the poem, especially the ending.

The birds may be nervous now, but they'll get used to things and in the end take over, like your other newcomers, LOL...And I like the 'hidden' Shakespearean allusion at the end...

cross-purposes or thinking from different decades, kind of like apples & oranges. I think the wood burning stove would be useful in a power outage, provided one has the chimney and a woodbox. If I sell this place and move, I think I'm going to make sure the new place has a generator to take over so the food in the freezer doesn't thaw.
