For many families, it does due to tradition. For my family, we never had that sort of tradition where someone does a particular task.

I don't think it matters as long as everyone is enjoying the holiday. I do what I can and my daughter and son-in-law do what I can't. I live alone so it really doesn't matter! lol sam
