My kids and I laughed so much when we brought out an old Santa Claus that we kept for years, to become part of the family. We all love the Christmas season

Re: Annicita
One of my sons when he was a toddler for some reason everyday pulled books off of any shelves he could reach. As fast as I would replace them on the shelves, he would sneak back and pull them out again....usually when I was in the kitchen cooking. I was certainly relieved when he outgrew that.

Special momentos for special times. At home it's the Angel for the top of the tree. The kids grew up with it too, and my granddaughter had put her name on it for future use...when Mémère will be too old to make the Xmas supper. I expect it will be handed down and I enjoy that thought

I like Navity sets a lot as well...Those Chiefs are having a good season. Hiring Andy Reid was the way to go.

I am not decorating....Elijah is a taz in disguise....destruction follows him everywhere...he seems to especially like throwing my books on the floor when mad, coloring the walls and himself with permanent marker....
Maybe next year when he is out of the taz twos!

My goodness that was quite the game! My son-in-law was rooting for the Broncos to beat your Chiefs. He's a Raiders fan and your team beat them this year, too! It's quite the division and I believe it will go to the last game of the year to decide who will win it! sam

Re: Justi
My Son #1 is the one who loves memoriability the most of anyone I know, and since he and I share living quarters, here it all sits. LOL

memories are made of this. I am carrying around a photo of a baby girl with a halo over her head. She and I loved each other so much. money couldn't buy this little treasure.

That is an awesome story. I love things from my children's past. But I am giving it all to my daughter now.

I think I still have the nativity scene from all those years ago, in a
sealed bag in the basement storage room. It's all one, the figures glued in place. I remember mom used to have a candle (we never lit it) that looked like a snowman on ice skates. She'd lay a mirror flat, decorate with a little cotton & a couple tiny fir tree candles, and we'd have "Frosty" on ice... funny what you remember. Glad your team won.

Re: Naut
So glad your team won. That really makes it special, especially if it was hard fought and hard won.

I too watched a football game last night - and it's the only the second one I've watched all year! (The first one being the Super Bowl) It was our CFL final - the Ottawa Red-Blacks vs the Calgary Stampeders, who always bring a horse into town. (And yes, of course the horse pooped in the hotel lobby, LOL) It was a thriling game, won by Ottawa who were the underdogs, which I was rooting for them...And I can imagine how many memories are attached to that nativity scene - tt'e become a family heirloom...
