Go to Life in the fast lane--where's the on ramp?

I couldn't stand working neo-natal and little ones even in nursing. A couple of times assisting a doctor with a newborn strapped to a circumcision board and screaming bloody murder, and I was ready for geriatrics.

Well my heart is stable now thank goodness, until I don't know when but I'm on a lot of medication.

OMG....this is like you are writing about me when I was nursing. I was no good in pediatrics. We only had the sickest kids in the State and they were so sick. I would be in tears...stories too difficult even to write and like your MD I found no matter what an elderly person's life has been at least they had the chance to live it.
The only way we dealt with those wee babies was to tell each oterh that they were so close to paradise that their souls only needed to come back for a very short time.

I too have met some super docs, and not to forget the nurses! And I can thank the gods - in my case it was always just a matter of injuries - nothing really serious...And of course I do wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!

Yes I like old people as long as they agree with me, seriously it is nice when one grows older because women will stop and talk when one is gardening even young ones. Well they look young. I always remember an old lady in the days when I was 16. She said to me I have not been kissed for years. Perhaps this young man will give me one? Something one always regrets.
