I am surprised, glad, an honoured ...

What a fine ideal you present here! I am indeed very proud of my princely state, Rajasthan. Translated it means Raja - King and sthan, place. I was born in Lucknow, and a Bengali Brahmin, like Tagore (also his fan). Noticing your Deo after UKUSA, I guessed that you must be an Indian. If that pic is yours, in a sari, you look beautiful with a Talwar. Jhansi ki Rani, in fact. JAIPUR, the city of my dwelling, is the capital of the state. The Rajput men are tall and sturdily handsome and the women too are tall, beautiful and so graceful. Enough of that I think, you got me somewhat emotional, and thank you so, so very much for saying a lot for India, patriotism.

UKUSA

What an astonishingly lovely and patriotic poem for Anibanerjee! Bless you! And all. Really an enjoyable read. We seem to remember our roots, in one way or another.

What a patriotic poem that give royalties to the people of "Rajah Kingdom". Not only were they a proud tribe, they lived with dignity and mutual respect and has a rich history. I think there will always be an attachment to a country of birth no matter where you decide to make your home. I think anibanerjee felt that need to go back to his country and did just that. I always feel that the wandering soul will always miss the land of the birth of his ancestors.

Re: bu there, dearest Lady Kabu, U have read & shared our Brit Bite.Or bug-

can't forget the umbilical cord that binds the Empire of "Brit culture," with or without blood connection. I think the French empire has its Francophiles, but they tend to be more snobbish-y than plain old UKusas.

Not sure what to write here. My ancestry is so mixed yet all interelated...Danish, English Scot and Ireland and I suppose Flemish if I take a step further back...yet now I live and love Canada I still call Australia home.
