Yeah, Christmas is knocking on the door
And I really enjoyed this entry. Well, I usually enjoy every entry I read. But this one was really one of them. 
Especially the Haiku.

Just thought I'd mention, my birthstone is also the ruby, and my dad also had bought me a ruby ring for my 10th birthday, which I wore until I was in my 30s, when it was stolen.

That is truly beautiful, and your niece did a wonderful job - professional quality! Oh, and I too am ino walking! Bennie and I do a lot of it, and since I've been measuring it I find I'm doing never less than 100,000 steps a week. Bennie with his four legs is doing at least twice as many, of course, but in reality probably even double that...
