I concur as to Jeffersonian thinking for the Electoral super-votes.It does

also put a brake on mob and majoritarianism: since the majority vote may be WRONG & yet become legal. So, that's the case with abortion. Now, if U would concur that since 1973, more than a million babies were aborted annually (almost 50 million now), but not all these dead babies are Democrat babies!?

Too often, we blame one party, when human nature/sinners are the reason. Republicans hate gay rights/equality and abortion during elections, but do ENJOY these rights all year long. At least for the friends, children, neighbors they love, or tolerate. Like traffic laws etc., only those we don't like, MUST follow them. Barbara Boxer will get over it; no Congress will get 2/3 in both houses to amend this aspect of the Constitution. Not just yet ... unless TRUMP blows it. He is a change agent, and I am full of hope. Republicans will not be so happy in a few months. That good4All

I am indifferent to whether we go with the electoral collge or with a popular vote to determine president. If it had been the popular vote, Trump would have campaigned differently and probably gotten enough of the urban vote to then win. At the end of the day, Clinton knew the rules and campaigned accordingly.

I know a lot of people bring up George W. Bush losing the popular vote in 2000, but what gets lost in that was Florida being called for Gore when it was not the case. How many Republicans out west did not vote once they got that news?
