Yes I think a cat is also helping itself to the puppy food I shall have to get some proper hedgehog food. We all change adnohr some for the worse.

It's nice to know that they have found a safe place to winter. There is much going on in this poem, CCT. Mood swings. Interesting observation about how you feel when reading over those you wrote when younger.

No, you're not losing it. I tend to run a bit dense...

Re: Ciel

Well perhaps she will get a few followers. There is a lovely story on the net about a lady who kept a tiny 4 ounce baby in her spare room overwinter. It eventually grew up and a mate crept into the garden. They had several babies and the woman said they were so tame that the used to crawl on to her lap. She must have lived away from traffic and street lighting. Oh, and she could tell the young ones apart by the bristle combination.    I take it that you want an advent calender so don't order one.

Re:

Do you know Kabu they cost more to keep than a cat(not yours) . A typical meal is one handful of meal worms a handful of puppy pellets and a packet of cat food. Today they had an extra two eggs hardboiled before they went out of date. Archie sniffs disdainfully as he passes. I had to run over several when I was on the milk round at night he said. They were half dead hit by cars. That's why we have to try to save them I told him.

Re: RPresta

Well you see I am try to get more animals to eat the slugs RP. I imported over 50 frogs and hope to have a few extra next year. Poor old hedgehogs have had a rough time the headlights of cars blind them at night and I suspect the artificial lighting works on them.

I assume they have a small brain and you know what light does to the pituitary gland.

Anyway I don't want another cat my last one did not catch birds, but it is a natural instinct as you know. I must admit sometimes when I read some of these older poems I find that they are a bit vague ,I try now to be more open or maybe I am losing it.

CCT

I take it you want to keep the hedgehogs around? I know not much of them... your poem was quite philosophical, and I need to take a second read, for its depth is great. Many interesting thoughts it contains. Lovely phrasing.

I can't find a hedgehog, but I do have a gopher who enjoys the

space under my back deck. The poem is full of sticky bits that create a bit of discomfort. Well done!  Love the ghost line.

I would just love to see your hedgehogs. Sounds like a Mama and baby wintering togehter and enjoying the free bounty.

So, it's a happy twosome in the hedgehog house... Good winter to them both! I'm glad you're looking out for them. Marika can provide you with some information for what to do with them in the spring.  She is pleased to anounce, by the way, that the Hollin Hall Farm Sanctuary has received Charity status at last!
