Thanks: 11/11/ at 11-o-clock, at the END of war in 1918 is Veterans Day.

The poem plays with the number 11, but it is not meant to offer dates for a history class. Thanks for your kind words of encouragement, folks. Vetrans Day is always on November 11th, (commemorating 1918) every year, around the world for the Allied Powers. Shalom, shalom

Re: RP thank U dear Encourageress. shalom, shalom & Shabbat shalom today

You are welcome. I KNOW what it is like to have a person in your household do that! But I would have to do an entire book... Shalom, shalon to you!

Glad you stopped by; yes, Wilson had his 14 Points for peace/League 11/11/

at the 11th hour could not be done; with poetic license I used around 1911. (The colonial powers or geemons were going at it for colonies; the spark came in Sarajevo, with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Yep ... I used to love teaching this stuff). Sorry I dd not clarify in the poem itself. Say Shalom-shalom to Wiley and Mr. Graysome (and the Bear Bruno, please).

Lest we forget...it was 1914-1918 love and my parents were just children. So many from so many countries fought and died in all the wars of the 20th century so that we have lived with Freedom. Well written and well remembered.

Re:

I remember old soldiers of the WW1 some were shell shocked  most were dead. One only has to visit the country Churches to see how many fell in that war. It did not stop the next one, sadly many young lads always seem eager to fight for their country. Not so much when they are conscripted,

Beautifully stated. We weep for humanity. We weep for war. We weep when there is a loss of peace. War is as old as humankind, as is peace. We choose peace. Some do not, dear UKUSA.
