And any heretofore unregulated genetic changes were outlawed. A World Genetics Lab (WCL) was establihed where desirable traits were islotated, and where measures were developed to protect the world's population from unwanted agents of genetic change, such as cosmic rays. A World Gene Regulation Commission (WGRC) was established and provided with comprehensive powers of enforcement. From now on, only individuals with the proper, i.e. equal distribution of male/female characteristics, as well as a host of other genetically influenced traits were allowed to exist and propagate. As well, only those displaying an acceptable level of skin pigmentation (roughly cafe-au-lait) were permitted.

And for a while everyone was totally equal and kinda happy, and singing 'Kumbaya'; that was before the big fade-out...
