Have you considered to visit him and explain a mother's decision for using a 'tough love' approach?

Mothers have a hard time with tough love, but often it is one of the only ways to help him stand on his own two feet, if ever he does. BTW, glasses are not SPOILING yourself - they are a necessity!

It seems most of us have at least one child who is the problem child...
Congrats and I bought my copy as well.

Your book looks very interesting; I just ordered a copy too..
Sigh, on sons, I have one who is in constant, needing help turmoil too...So hard to say no, even when we know we should. I always try to make mine think about what he will do when his parents have passed and his siblings simply cannot afford to "lend" another dime..He moans that he is already too depressed to ponder such things..

Love the first part of this blog. I have ordered my copy from Amazon and when done here, I'm off to FB to see your photo.
I feel your pain on the other part. I would be in pretty much the same spot with Son#1 if his father had not left him $$ (which he basically spends on alcohol and cigs).
I've never been much of a tough-love person, so I guess it is my fault.

I am sorry for your situation vis a vis your son and I agree with Kabu's comment.

I do hope that you will make some money out of the book Pat . I don't know what to think about your son, it does not seem right really that you should use all your funds. I should not think your other son is very happy either. Perhaps if it continues you could cut the payments, you cannot keep on indefinately. I know it must be tearing you up.

First of all I am so glad that your book is doing well. email me a copy of the photo and I will put it on my line or post it here and i will grab it.
Second darling, this is really tough. ...You do know that you and his brother are being enablers don't you? He will never stand alone on his own two feet if someone will prop him up. I am pretty sure that he threatens to harm him self and that is so tough to think about. One needs professional help to deal with that. it just isn't fair for you who has struggled all your life to be the best that you can be are flushing that sort of money down the Loo...for that is what is happening. sending prayers and hugs and love.
