Well dear I cannot comment on USA politics. However I will tell you a little sad story
During WW2 we were asked to bring paper or books to be churned up for war materials I suppose. Fortunately it was dry and the books and papers were laid in long lines along the pavements. One small boy came proudly carrying a large book. He placed it in line with the rest. I was rather curious as it was a magnificent looking book I remember.
I lifted the stiff cover and there were several signed names apparently of different generations. Sadly it was the family Bible.

Very interesting and well written post..
Having lived with a Korean War vet father who greatly suffered from Ptsd due to his military experiences, I became an early "why war in any case" constant and relentless questioner and eventual anti war daughter. I fully believe that any person who makes it to high office in the U.S. has sacrificed their soul to the war machine; it is required by the true power brokers behind the scenes if they want to to serve. Because the job is to actually serve not humanity or the citizenry but the military industrial complex, period. Therefore I have absolutely no faith or trust in any candidate of any party attempting to secure the executive branch. So this statement resonates with me: "I am sick of such leaders in this world who want war, so they can sell weapons." I find your experiences honestly shared and excellently presented; thank you.

elections, but the 1920s party leadership vote went Hitler's way. Very significant anf a watershed, in the Wemar republic period. It was democracy in Germany then. Hitler had to sell, market, and compete. Of course, I hate all he stands for, and baiting prejudice, even in rural areas agaunst those Jews who owned land.farms, to win votes among the lower middle class German male voters! shalom shalom Sir Nauti

As always - very impressive! One minor point - Hitler never actually did win an election outright, but was appointed Chancellor by the then President, Hindenburg, in '33. But when Hindenburg died in '34, Hitler abolished the Presidency and made himself Fuhrer (Leader), following Mussolini's example, who had mde himself Duce, which is the Italian for Leader...
