Oh, two poems today. I love it.

An empty heart is rough on a person's soul.

Good poems, I suppose it depends on ones ability to grasp the days as they pass. When one no longer wishes to, sleep prevails.

I think this way sometimes.

I think we must deliberately walk through the melancholy and do something purposeful.

the LORD gave us memories - & ones that remain powerful - for His plan

Everything that is lost, will be restored by Him (Joel 2:25). What would the children have for wisdom, if the older generation forgot painful memories? shalom shalom

TAPS

It's so sad, both the poem and the story, that it's difficult for me to comment. Well said.

I keep telling Wiley I want to live one minute longer than him. So we can be together always. Why him go first...because he has already watched Joyce die.

Haunting realities..

Very thought provoking; after a certain age, for some, perhaps death is the ultimate blessing. There was a lady age 106 in a care facility I worked at who had no family left but she had so many friends and folks around her who really cared. She was still ambulatory and alert, interested in quilting and able to do some quilt work (her eyesight was poor, even with strong glasses) and she loved interacting with other patients. She seemed at peace and content even during the time I knew her. Strong poems, TAPS..
