You are right. I believe this is a poem for all wars and the innocent will never know so many truths are covered up. Poignant, believable well done .

"...like a sythe through wheat..." - one of my favorite parts of this poem. And the door remains closed. Touching to the point of chills. And rings true... Excellent! So well written.
