Unequalled in describing the real agony of having to face that it is over. Somehow without really knowing how come, it is over for him and I like the way you mention your shrinking heart. I think anyone who has faced this pain will really appreciate your words . It rings do true.

I really got into this one - read through it twice to get all the nuances.

I love astrophysics and this poem takes full advantage of the cosmic dance.

Well I am glad you did not slide into a black hole Taps. There are plenty around, although your gentleman would probably have saved you. An honest poem which gives away or provides your inner strength, you know which.
