The super-rich pay nothing, or nearly nothing, or it doesn't hurt them to pay whatever they do pay. The super-poor pay, or may not pay, depending on income, but every cent they don't have, hurts to lose. The middle class work, or have worked, for what they have or don't have. If paying 10 cents a gallon in taxes hurts, then who is gonna care? They will tell them their real estate taxes will be less. But if they don't own any real estate, or count on that deduction..., then what? It's all a game and usually the middle is the loser, IMHO.

No, I do not feel that way. Different things appeal to different people, not always the most luxurious of which. Some rich people also hoard money.
