Thanks so much: Comments by all, incl NAUTIKOS; LANETAY, CCT. Tones me down
see my Sunday sermon/post/blog near YOU!
My Sermon is toned down because of your GOODNESS: Absent from Church?
If you do not go to Church at all, are you a Christian? Do you have a right to criticize either Trumps or the Clintons?
Let me answer by starting my message this way: Why should we attend any Bible-preaching church? (Those places that teach positive thinking only, are not churches of Jesus Christ. They have to teach part of the Bible every meeting to be Christian)
1. The Bible says we ought to!
Read Ephesians 5 (Submission) Ephesians 6 (slaves & masters) & Hebrews 10:25 amongst others, and the fact Jesus Himself went to synagogue to discuss TORAH, and after age 12, to dispute with the false teachers in and out of the Temple and synagues.
2. It is the only way to stop having your own RELIGION, shaped by yor feelings and personality!
When we submit to our pastors, it is obedience to God. Jesus observed the Sabbath, all the feasts, and went to "church." And who are we to define our own Christianity, then? Sitting in church and listening to a pastor, even if we do not like or agree with him (her?), we are following Ephesians 6, as Jesus also submitted to authorities. remember, he did not have to pay taxes, but he did, when the Pharisees questioned his disvciples about it. (Donald Trump ought to follow this examples in ALL respects). See Matthew 17:26-27 - Jesus said the sons & daughters of the King do not pay taxes, but to set the example, He told Peter to fish a silver coin from the lake, and pay the tax for BOTH of them.
When we are told to respect all authority, it does not mean we agree, or that they are always right. We suffer them until the LORD returns to set up the BEST government. The only time we disobey pastors and government at any level, is when they ask us to worship false Gods other than the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob!
3. Mutual Encouragement: In being concise, I would say the third reason is that we are encouraged in Church because of other human beings.
Everyone may be touched by God's spirit either in singing/hymns or in the Sermon, or by being with niice people, even if we are being nice just for that hour. If we remain cooped up with our own erfect fellowship, we cannot grow our faith and strength. No Christian has ever grown in his or her faith by sitting in a corner with a Bible. The Bible is a living WORD, that comes alive in hearing it and in doing it (2 Tim 3:16 & James 1: 21-22)
(I am an assistant pastor, but I am planning on becoming ordained. My colleagues at Liberty University have, in some cases, got Ordination via the Internet! Others, get it through schools in the Caribbean Islands. The LORD is guiding me the slow path. Alelujah and Amen).
Listen to this song/hymn, and shock yourself in becoming happy. I dare you:

Excellent post! I am a friend of that remarkable country, Israel! I'm not Jewish, but a Zionist, LOL. Oh, and you'll find an answer to your comment in Naut's Thoughts...

PeAcEWe make peace with those who are 'un'lovable, imperfect, or with whom
we have serious differences. See how Shimon Peres changed the shades, colors, and texture of our understanding of peace/shalom/Paz/Pace! God be glorified.
