I am glad that Joey has been able to be reconnected to his owner...It is always tough for people who rescue an animal with the hope of keeping it to give it back...That is wonderful that you two are going to adopt a cat from a shelter.

How sad Naut , But it will give another lonely cat a chance of happiness if you adopt a homeless one,

Well, despite the tears this is a happy ending all 'round. This means
two kitties will have their happy "owners." BTW, when I was a kid my Aunt Ella had a lovely black cat named Ben, who had tomcat tendencies and ran away at some point. He was gone for a couple months and then returned, doing his usual house tour, claiming his regular window sill. Except a couple weeks later she had kittens... So they named their kitty Ben Her.

How sad! But then he's back home and found a friend in you Naut! Am sure the next cat would make up for it.

Oh, yes, there would be tears! My heart sunk when I read that you found the poster. And then having to show it to Mrs. Naut! Ohhh, nooo! Well, you are doing the only sensible thing by rescuing another kitty. Now Bennie will be meeting another kitty. Poor guy. He will do well with the right cat since he didn't mind Joey, or Georgie. It should be fun to do the meet-and-greets with the different cats.

Oh I am sorry but I look forward to your getting a new kitty. Let us know soon. This is a situation to be sorry about and to be happy too. Your keeping him until you found the poster perhaps kept him alive since he has no fear of the street.

Everything happens for a reason, Naut. Finding Joey made you realize you want a cat, and I bet there is one sitting in a rescue waiting just for you!

I am sorry you had to give back that naughty boy. Bloody little oportunist that is what he is....LOL...I am sorry for your wife and you though, and getting a rescue cat is a really great idea. I look forward to the adventures of choosing her and how easy or not it is to become a united family group.
