I wonder, do we need an Electoral College in the US? Is popular vote a bad idea? I don't know the answer, just know the question.

I don't much like the first comment that says I started it.  That is no excuse for what continues.  We are all responsible.  The beginning of the second paragraph is definitely true.  I'm no good at the rest of what you want, but I will say I am definitely conservative at heart, but conservatives being human it is all corrupted--both sides.  In the Bible, God says he will take care of the mess.  I trust Him to do that.

I could get on a roll here. But for now, I agree that there are extremes. Always have been, always will be. Traditions, values; many things I could say. Just don't have time right now. I will revisit though.

I wouldn't tax the rich to the point of what is the point...but I would raise taxes on the very wealthy, especially once their family responsibilities (schooling of children etc) are over, until they retired. Then no matter what, I would reduce their taxes after seventy when their health may deteriorate. ( Those times and curcamstances could be flexible.)

I would not tax anyone on the basic wage, which I would raise.

The future of a country is in the schooling of the young. I cannot understand why or how any one can think otherwise and burden the young with intolerable debt for getting a full education either in a University or trade school.

Same as you about animals and national parks.

I wouldn't build a wall to keep drugs out, I would educate continuously against drug use in society.

Specifically, I'd like to see each person get a fair chance at doing

exactly what would fulfill them and support the general welfare, and that the weight of bad luck (i.e., poverty & its ills) didn't fall so heavily on some that they can never get out from under it.
