Something to be said about willingness to rip out stitches, even rows, whole inches of rows, to correct a flaw or re-create a more interesting pattern. There is pleasure in the work itself, in the action of eye and hook and hand... sometimes even greater than the satisfaction of finishing the hat you had in mind when you started.
