Re:
interesting response. I didnt know Blogit suspending people, that was the first I heard of it. I think with Kaepernick he feels that way because he was raised with a white family since his white mother gave him up for adoption and his father who was black was not in his life. It seems he is a very religious person. He might want to fight for his biracial life but it seems he wasnt affected by that but who knows. I just think he should help those in need and not make a spectacle of himself.

I understand Kaepernick's sentiments about racial oppression in America.
That said, I do not agree with his form of protest being to sit down during the National Anthem. Our National Anthem is linked heavily toward support of our military. So unintentionally, he disrespects them. The guy is spending more time dealing with accusations about being anti-military than he is about the issue he cares so much about.
Even though he has the right to free speech, that does not make him immune to reprecussions as a result. For instance, there have been players suspended for their speech. The NHL suspended Sean Avery indefinitely a few years back for calling ex-girlfriends of his "sloppy seconds." John Rocker was suspended by MLB for racist and anti-gay words. The NFL has fined players who have spoken out against former gay NFL player Michael Sam.
On Blogit, we have had people's words lead to suspensions or bannings. ZenMom was suspended for calling religious people "Godbots," and she chose to leave over it. Soulbuilder was banned for making anti-Jewish remarks.

You or I may disagree with his not standing, but that is his right, according to the NFL. If we disagree with his right, then we ultimately lose our rights. Having said that, he could have, and should have, chosen a different forum or time to express his distaste. As you said, with his income, he could do more positive things than to just have a seat. And no one shoud have called you out about it. You made valid points. Just my opinion.

What I found sad today was that all the news...now admittedly I didn't listen to much but That it was all about not standing for the flag and very little if anything as to why he didn't feel that he could.
but then I come from a culture that loves the symbol of the flag and that people have fought and died under it and stuff and stuff but are not really so strict about the whole thing. It means a lot but not as much of a lot...if that makes sense.

Well perhaps he recalls stories from the past. when the first black soldiers came to England the white Americans did not hold them in high regard, We natives always found then friendly and the girls adored them. Well they were willing to fight so they deserved equality. I think we have all moved on from the pre-war days,, but I expect resentment lingers,
