Been There, Done That
You have my sympathies. I save stuff on a flashdrive, but probably not as often as I should.

I often do what FSI does. Sometimes I write things as notes on my phone and then transfer them.

Nice little tips & tricks to avoid the devastation of the ZAP...
I do better writing in Blogit or elsewhere if I keep in mind the trick of just relaxing into it, like when I'm crocheting. Too much hurry, too much tension between hook and thread, and you get knots and irregularities that don't look good and may have to be ripped out and done over. Easy duzit!

I always compose my entries in email, sending them to myself. Even if there is a crash of some sort, at least a part of it will be saved, and one can hit control S, anyway, to save.

I always write straight to Blogit and that has happened to me way to many times. After a moment or two of real disappointment where I actually say s**t in a resounding voice, I begin again. I like your idea of copying often--at least every paragraph. That would help a lot. I haven't felt like writing much lately but I need to get back into it before I forget how.

I am crazy cos I write straight to Blogit site. Mostly i open up the entry page with nothing in my mind and just start to write. If /when I lose it I know it is my fault, but upset? Yes I am.
