Re: Re: Nautikos

Let me clarify, I am at times somewhat directionally impaired. LOL.The entire back of the house faces West, where the breezes come in, carrying the scent from somewhere. The neighbors are to the East, against the wind.

Re: Aba

Good one! No, 'It Ain't Me," as the Dylan song says! I am puzzled on this one right now. As I said, I will report in when I find it, assuming I do find it.

Re: Nautikos

Well, Naut, if I ever find a scented plant anywhere around here, down the road(s) or otherwise, I will be happy to report. I know there must be one somewhere but it would almost have to be the next block over! A west-facing house, with the back to two corners, with no one behind, on a slope... I suppose I could scout all the neighbors' backyards, even though they face the opposite direction... But no. I think it drifts from the block far behind somehow. I even stood in the backyard and it was there occasionally.

I think someone left the door to the hothouse open, you know the one down the road...But I like the poem

Re: Re: Kabu

well they are strong. I love them too but they make me sneeze so yes I think if the breeze is blowing the right way they must be somewhere.

Re: C_C_T

Hi CC, dear! How are you feeling? I was concerned about you. So glad you are back. Still not well though? Thank you for wading through all those odes of poetry. Well, I'm not sure what Chumpet's saying about mermaids. This one I conjured up waits for her mortal man, tell dear Chumpet. Glad you're back, and be well.

Cough cough. HI P. I have just read your previous poems,

In my morbid state I thought they were quite nicely constructed.

Chumpet has taken the liberty of answering some of them in verse .

RPresta

I fear it is your mermaid, and hastily I warn you to take heed.

She seeks no lover, just a gentle chosen sister for solace.

She weeps and peeps so wistfully through strands of seaweed.

and would steal your heart, should she ever see a dream upon your face.

Such tales of sadness I have known and have at darker times to tell.

Pray laugh not, I trust this warning comes not late.

The sea begins to call , so secretly, but this it is now a spell.

Perfumes are seductive, this second warning you should never underrate.

Chumpet.

Re: WileyJohn

Well, Wiley, it is fortunate, but none are growing here that I can see, or anywhere nearby. They must be here somewhere...

Re: Katray2

Thank you, Katray2. I have searched for them, but to no avail. Perhaps the scent travels quite far...

Lovely poem and perhaps the scent is a reminder?...:)

or more likely, they are near but hidden from your view..

Re: Kabu

They are nice. The scent would have to travel quite a distance, and I haven't seen any at all - yet... Odd thing is, I had planned to plant Gardenias and tons of flowers, but haven't landscaped yet.
