I certainly hope that fire doesn't affect you! And as for the election circus - I'm not afraid but appalled! As far as I am concerned, both parties ended up with the worst possible candidates! Mind you, the Dems didn't have much to choose from to begin with, but the Reps did have some good people...

Fingers crossed the power plant fire is out quickly with no outages...
Scary to think we'd have to go back to those "thrilling days of yesteryear" before we had air conditioning in this weather. As for the confusion you're feeling - it's not you, its the world we're living in, so much BS on the tube we'd never even have heard about when there were 3 or 4 channel and the news anchors had our respect.

I think that Up Ballot refers to the top of the ballot where the Presidential candidates are displayed, Down Ballot refers to all the congressional races and the more local state races. Not enough of us pay attention to those 'little' races, but those are the seats from which most of our law comes from.
That fire is probably making it even hotter... It doesn't sound good! I hope you have an alternate place to hang out where generators make up for loss of electricity.
