This sounds so much like my childhood. Our house was so crowded with children that we certainly did enjoy visiting the homes of others whose children were grown and there was lots of room and pretty things around.

Oh boy, does this bring back memories! I spent many a summer's holidays on relatives' farms, and my favourite job was looking after the horses! I wrote a poem about that once, posted a few years ago...
