Re: Re: CCT
One must take care when it is windy as a tumbleweed can roll into the street in front of ibe's car. Not often, mind you. They are dry and like brambles. A tomato tart sounds rather interested. I make a vegetable tart with a cream cheese base that the veggies are placed upon before baking. Labor intensive but good.

Re: Lanetay
That's bad if she works with food LT. Of course it might be physiological, sadly there are a lot of lonely people around. It is funny how when you give a demonstration that folk will comment and judge what you are doing and yet would not speak if you were sitting in the surgery.

Re: Rpresta
I know that California is as large as England. It was just a lady used to tell me she had to gather the tumble weeds and not burn them until the rainy season, I suppose. Of course they were always a feature in the old cowboy films. I mustn't grumble about Arthur he can read something and build a computer from the instructions, his latest project a kind of tomato tart. It is quite nice really so I bought him another of the expensive baking tins today.

Yes Naut I keep coming back to thinking about our farming experiences. Nostalgia is a great leveler. Perhaps the Lord will not be as careful as I was, I can see a future sadness.

I love those beautiful White Snapdragons. (I hope that is what they are.) Poor Archie he can't stay well long enough to make a show of much, it seems. I think that was one best you moved on from. Mama sounded like a loadstone to hang around anyone's neck. I so love reading your work.

Re: Re: CCT
No, no tumbleweeds now, but it does happen occasionally when one is driving around. As for Arthur, because of what he did for work, he is more conscious of transfer of contaminants. As for the girl, the potential MIL was something!

Hope Archie feels better soon! And I guess you had another one of your lucky escapes - I wonder for how much longer? I suspect Miss Wolfy Dunn still has designs on you, Lord or no Lord...

Re:Kabu
Yes Kabu, I was rather shy and I kept looking at the potential M.I.L , And, and , well that is so sad. Yes Arthur is rather hard to put up with, but he cooks my lunch and does my tax, and makes me keep buying new clothes and I wish he would bugger off to his own house sometimes. Got to go visitors only the other brother and wife. Probably hear things I have heard several times over. Never mind I have just finished commenting on here except for journal. See you tomorrow.

Yes Pat I just realize that i should not take on such a big load, one has to prepare for these things. Surprising the mothers who would have encouraged a reluctant suitor.

Re: adnohr
Cheers Yes recovery is vital for my sanity . Arthur thinks he gets enough exposure to germs when he goes for a blood test every fortnight or so. A bit humiliating but when I looked at the potential mother in law I was quitec pleased.

I continue to hope that Archie feels better. Arthur sounds ready to take on the germs.
It looks like a proposal gone awry.

Oh my, Archie must get himself well soon, poor man. And Arthur, spraying the outside tap! I think that's one for the books! And, it seems like Dad, Arthur and you all have a fantastic sense of that famous British humor. And your poem is spot-on, also!

Ugh - being sick is not fun! Poor fellow. It also gives you a lot of extra work to do. Does Arthur know that we need to be exposed to some germs to help build our immune system? Cute poem - saved in the nick of time!

I loved the poem. Dodging a bullet leaves a great floating feeling in its aftermath.

Hopefully another round will fix him up! Great, yearning-full poem with the classic CCT style of tongue-in-cheekiness.

well some women can't take rejection so have to find a reason you won't marry. Sorry about Archie, now he will take a while to improve. Arthue really is a bit of a fuss pot.
