Yes Presta, that is how things were during Donne's days. Science was in its infancy and almost all the metaphysical poets dabbled with science, because that was then a matter of great exhilaration. Thanks a lot.

I think for the time in which it was written, it is quite a poem. I think there is an indefinable beauty here, in and of itself, as with true love. And that, imo, is the message, simply stated, that Donne was trying to convey. Well put, Aba.

How beautifully this poem, and especially with your explanations. This describes real love. something that I felt I had missed in life but found with our Wiley. ...And it describes so perfectly. Thank you dear friend. I don't suppose I would read some of the works that you present here without your explanations. I love learning.
