I know of a lot of people who want a break from the politics barrage that we are currently getting. I myself am a politics junkie, so I find it all very interesting to follow.

Isn't it said an artist is at his/her best when going through pain? Your story was excellent. I believe that each one of us felt every moment of the turmoil. But now, yes - a break in the bush and nature is what you need. Refreshes the spirit to write again.

I have decided that if I am going to make it through the next 90 days I am going to have to major on the things you mention in your last paragraph. I can't even be around the relatives that I love so much because they are so ugly about one side or the other of the political mess. This is the time that I am so thankful for Son #3, Phil's Dad. He loves nature and physical work and care of Phil. When we are together, like Sunday afternoon lunch yesterday, we speak of things like how his bee tree is coming along, or the fawn triplets that bound into his backyard each day and eat his apples that fall off of the tree, or the wonderful deals he bought up from the hardware store/lumber company going out of business....not one bit of political talk. Such a breath of fresh air.

Pat
Reviving bad childhood memories can certainly trigger anxiety, especially when other distasteful spectacles stir the emotions - like the current race to the White House...And I go on long walks in the woods with my Bennie almost daily, as long as it doesn't rain, LOL...

I agree, politics really sucks sometimes, everywhere.

I really enjoyed this post, reminded me of the pointlessness of our
politics.

I suppose, if you look at it that way, the crap that triggered my
storytelling is not 100% bad. If memory serves there's a saying: "It's an ill wind that blows no good."

Yes I guess it is miserable to listen to all the threats that will become you if you do not select the best person for the unenviable job. It does not get any easier.

Pat darling...here is a hug...
and turn off the mass media TV that is mostly to blame. They are only interested in making money. At the moment, they are the ones laughing all the way to the bank. Summer is flying by and so are the days of our lives; being outside with summer warmth and nature, yes that is where we should be.
Dear Wiley is addicted to listening and of course he must have whatever he wants but I have to switch off from it all. Such hate and blatant lies and yes very childish rhetoric.
But I love your history life was so much harder for you as a child than I could ever have imagined. You write with such realism that I can feel your pain as I read.
