It is strange really bullies are not really a lot stronger than the rest ,but have a nasty ingrained desire to hurt others. As we grew older we found we could even beat the bullies as they were usually lazy and we had to work and grew stronger. Not nice though for children.

Pat
I guess I was lucky - systematic bullying simply isn't one of my childhood experiences. I had the odd fight - but that's different...

Ha! Can identify! We had them at school too, and on the walk home. There were no buses where Bird and I were living as foster children. Because it was known that we were not only fosters but illegitimite, we got the 'B' word thrown at us often. I didn't get them back in ballgames, but sure learned how to throw a fist, or a kick where it would hurt!! Your posts ar bringing back so many memories. Loving them.

good for you. I know back then we just fought back best we could and if there ws a bloodied nose or two no one was going to get sued. In fact parents never got involved in kids fights no matter how much a bit of help may have been a good thing.
