That's not good. Taking care of yourself is priority - although I'm not one to talk. We just get so caught up in what we're doing and forget how it can cause us personal harm. But you know now, so can take steps to improve the situation.

I didn't know I was diabetic until my feet started to go numb. There were other symptoms that my doctor simply hadn't taken any notice of. It was upsetting, and I even felt shamed that I had let it--type 2--happen. So I have an inkling how you are feeling right now.
One thing you haven't mentioned regarding the leg cramps has helped since I had some really intense ones a few weeks ago. Co Enzyme q10. This is made in the body, but our capacity to produce it diminishes with age. Since I started taking it with my daily diabetes pills (metformin) and the atorvastatin I take every couple of days for monstrous high tri-glyceride numbers, and the fish oil for the same, and the hydrochlorothyazide for water retention, and the allopurinol to prevent gout... Not only do I hardly have room for breakfast anymore, but the numbers are improving significantly.
Good luck with finding your best 'breakfast blend' and with getting all your numbers back on track. I bet reducing the stress will make a dramatic difference, too!

Sadly we never want to give up. Your past life style appears to be a hard one on your body. fortunately it has not harmed your mind. I do hope you can relax and build your strength back up again quickly.

Honey...I don't know anything about your financial situation or anything but Diabeties is very serious because it is a creepy disease. Slowly destroying organs, your heart kidneys and so much more. Sometimes we don't know about the trouble until it is too late to reverse. Give that job away if you can....(from your RN who cares. )
