She says to contact the British Hedgehog Preservation Society and they will refer you to some local carers. She says ticks are probably not their only troubles, and the experts will know what to do for them.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Ciel
I am passing the question along to Marika. I should think, though, if there is a local hedgehog rescue, they'd know what to do and can best take care of them until they can be released in a less buggy place.

Yes, the work is wearisome, but the reward is greater than money.
You're contributing to beauty and joy in the world, and it needs it. I hope the cold is all better very soon.

Re:RPresta
Well I am trying to polish some earlier poems. I trust you have got your computer back.
My goodness you do get some comments, but you really deserve them. When I first came here it was easy to rack up 20 plus, but folk left due to different reasons.
Thank you for staying this long you are a ray of sunshine.

Re: Re: Re: Ciel
Sadly most of my hedgehogs sneak away, I would like to know an easy way to get bugs off them, I have seen little ones and they have been nearly sucked dry. I have seen them occasionally on cats , the only way I know is to twist the bug anticlockwise and remove it.
I know the bug can carry disease, but are usually found in grass. Perhaps they do not live in all areas.

Hope everyone is feeling better. Your gardening is you! Just don't overdo. And your poem goes straight to the heart, or rather, is straight from the heart. I really enjoyed reading it.

Re: Re: If you didn't have the garden, what would you be doing with your time?
Sounds like gardening is less risky than some of those alternatives.
If you want some information on setting up a hedgehog hutch, I know where to get it.

Chasing old ladies I expect Ciel or login into Face-book or sitting down in Devon watching the sea, or dealing in shares and losing money. A big hedgehog ran into the garden opposite but I couldn't see it. My sister said she saw one on the road and thought that it would get run over. I said if you see any bring them to me, hopefully they would keep the slugs down.

Arthur is of course right, but did he determine that Archie's cough had a viral cause?
I love the poem - and love and nature can coincide...

Helen, who used to live here, came with her husband and planted a wild rose bush just under my kitchen gallery.Already some pretty hot pink flowers are on it now. She also planted peonies, a delaila and my favorite - a baby lilac tree. She laughed when I asked if I would see blooms this year (that's how much I know about gardening!) That's a excellent poem, CCT. It stirred my senses!

Nothing like the lost love to make one wonder how it could have been. Archie first shouldn't have antibiotics around...you are meant to take the full dose that was prescribed and so you should never have any in the house. beside RIGHT. Antibiotics don't work for a virus so again he is playing with his health by taking a few antibiotics when he doesn't need to and when he does need to one day, he will find it more difficult for them to work. grrrrrrr
