Basically most are not very hygienic, I suppose we are used to a good many germs. In the past no one would have thought of wearing gloves. Bacteria could soon grow if a hand slipped amongst the preparation. It is a bit different in the home where one would be fairly safe and immune from local germs etc. Good thinking on your part.
