Re: TAPS
I cannot stress the strength of your comment enough. Thank you. I have met the Beast twice before, up close and personal.

People who have not seen end-stage Parkinsons cannot even begin to imagine what you are going through. You are very special to us.

Plan short trips. You still have life in yoU The FLESH will never feel the ecstasy of the Soul freed from this life; but we work with what we know and go on

just dropping you a line
to say hi. As a brother in arms in this battle of pain, I admire your courage for facing the inevitable with such aplomb.Writing about it is its own therapy, like telling the demon"yeah, I know you're gonna get me, but I fear thee not". I am back from what will probably be my last sojourn across the country. Was good to see old friends one last time, but I am now nearly broke...financially and medically..lol..and friday I'll take the CT scan and see what damage I have done by skipping so many treatments..but I don't really care..for it was worth every second of the trip..and if my body can't go anymore, I'll send my mind to the memories...take care..Ray

If I could I would send it all crashing through your world Joe. Such a simple desire but time is cruel.

I am so thankful that in my lifetime I have experienced many times the "briny breezes"--the sand and wind and crashing waves. When I miss those things, I close my eyes and call them to mind and experience them again in a different way. Beautiful poem.

Caro Cugino
Your poem is so beautiful despite your pain, because of its poignancy and honesty. You suffer so, and we all ache. How strong is the call of the sea to some of us...and soothing.
