It is an intellectual stupidity that is caused by liberal philosophy. Be nice to the Muslims, don't profile people with Middle Eastern/Arab faces. (Be nice in Nice, what a fitting epitaph). All immigrants are welcome, and the police must not profile them.
Liberal philosophy is the reason France has let so many Muslims into their country, that is why they have over 700 Muslim no-go zones where the jihadists can live among their less-violent Muslim brothers, planning and supplying their next attacks. The jihadists in our countries are like wolves among sheep....... Muslim sheep as well as liberal infidel sheep.

Did you see that the French police actually stopped the truck on its way to the attack, because large trucks are banned on holidays, except deliveries (hmmm, what else do big trucks do?). The driver told them he was delivering ice cream, so the police waved him on. If they had just said, show us the ice cream, this attack could have been prevented.
Smart driver, stupid police.......

Sadly, this will continue, until Western Civilization wakes up from their current liberal pacifist dream (actually a fantasy and a nightmare) of the moral reality of the world we live in....... the reality is quite different than what they insist.......
