Re: Re: Re: Kabu, dear.

first my re was to FSI not you.

And why don't feminists talk about sex slaves etc...well the fact is , like most men, we are cowards, we have easy excuses so as not to get our heads cut off after being raped for days or weeks etc...we are too young, too old...and of course there have always been brave women who do beard the monster in his den.

I had a long long talk years ago with a progressive group of people who had got right up my nose for not taking on  many things that are wrong outside of our own corner of the earth and it all broke down to, cleaning up our own patch before tackling someone elses.

Yes I too felt frustrated, but when I was nursing and later teaching I did what I personally could for women and children who were ill treated. Not just reporting abuse but spending time with women and ensuring that while they were in my care that they were treated with the dignity that they deserved. Yes I chased husbands, fathers and sons out of cubicles when the Dr. or staff examined Muslim women. Then sat and discussed their rights in Australia as to their laws from where they came. But it is really tough because as I was brought up to be free in so many ways, my sisters were taught from birth differently and conditioning has so much to do with how a society operates. Expectations, women will teach their daughters, will mutilate their daughters, will even Kill their daughters if they try to move out of that terrible box.

So I have no easy answer to the complexities of human society and the keeping women as second class citizens, of sex slavery, even as animals that have no soul but are a receptacle for the male to place his seed and for it to grow.

I have even given lectures to young Australian girls and been really disliked for calling them to independent thinking and to see themselves as more than working towards being someones wife and Mother. I read,  I try to keep up,  but it is almost over for me personally and I can't do more. My life now is to keep our Wiley comfortable and loved etc. I have passed tha batton.

besides there is always trouble here with the Gnomes that keeps me overworked.!!!!

Re: Re: Kabu, dear.

Thank you so much! I've wondered for a long time what my problem was - but you have explained it! I don't read enough, and on the rare occasions I do I read the wrong stuff! Now mind you, I didn't post this because I thought you didn't know about that nasty sex slavery business - I know you know all about it! I posted this to show what nice Muslim ladies think about it - but I'm sure you knew all about that also.

But I do have one question, and I'm sure you know the answer to that as well: Why do our nice feminist ladies never talk about the sex slavery that is common in so many parts of the world? Is it because it doesn't affect them? I would be so grateful if you could enlighten me...

Re:

you are wrong listening to the wrong news or not reading anything. There is heaps of information around and all of it just revolts a decent person. There are sex slaves being sold all over the world...yes even smuggled across the borders into America...and house hold slaves too.

Yeah, sex slavery in Muslim countries is not getting brought up. It is amazing just how much of a blind eye is being turned toward it.

Unfortunately, I have heard of it also. Sad.

Nautikos

The post hasn't uplifted Islam in my way of thinking.

How sad it is that someone can't do something for them.

Naut...I was only a girl when I knew about that and also about wives being burned alive in Parkistan if their family don't pay the dowery or if the old man croaks and she needs to go. All illegal these days but stoning and burning and beheading still take place. How do you think I found out so much of the horrors women across the centuries have suffered.
