Yes, that was a great story to read on vacaiton......
Now I am back home, and I can say WOW, that veteran saved an American Bald Eagle from a horrible death, but I can also say..... what took him so many shots???
I have a custom Ruger 10/22 rifle with an expensive trigger assembly that reduces the trigger pull to less than 3 pounds, and a Shepherd sniper scope that cost much more than the rifle itself, and I have not been practicing enough with it lately, but still...... I think I could have done the same thing with far less shots, perhaps less than 100 shots.
But this excellent man was in the right place at the right time, and he did what he was called to do by his own skill and moral judgement, and he did not get arrested and put in jail by evil asshole environmentalist officials, who were surely on their way to the scene to punish him if he failed in his goal, and if he accidentally shot the eagle, SO..... this guy is a true hero, and I salute him!!!!!

That was something else Naut. One lucky Eagle, some may have thought shoot the Eagle to stop its suffering. It also appeared to be almost friendly.

What a great story! Thank you for sharing this....it brought tears to my eyes. I just wrote a post for the 4th, straight from my heart....but when I hit the post button, it disappeared into that black hole that sometimes sucks things up. So, I was feeling really depressed about that....kind of empty....and you just filled me up again.
