Nautikos

I learned more by the hands on method which seemed to make time pass more quickly than the science of it.

It is interesting how much our thinking about time has evolved over the years.

I know you've got a good grasp on this time-space thing, but this old gal

is still coming to grips with the fact that light years are a measure of distance and not time, .... exactly.  I did get messed up when I was a Star Trek fan, what with all those warp drive commands and wormholes, etc... I always did think "Beam me up, Scotty" was an unreachable dream, but it took the Sheldon Cooper character on Big Bang Theory to make me laugh about it..

I still struggle with the concept of time as you write about it. My mind is too small to grasp such things as eternity or even that it could all end. I mean what would be left, another creation? I am a Christian as you know, but I don't see the Bible as a scientific book so I like the word creation for there is the creator behind all. Everything is not chaos as science taught me in school. Maths is perfect. everything is in order and there are no conclusions only more learning. The closer I live with nature the more sure I am of the marriage of science philosophy and spirituality. Don't hit me too hard.

Naut does not time just mean eventually, decay of the status quo until it is recycled.

This is a layman's suggestion.
