Re: BC-A

Wow! What a nice man you must be! Proud to "know" you. And hope you are feeling better.

Re: Nautikos

Yep, I think so! You two would probably have had a fine time chatting it up, losing a few of us along the way at times...although I don't remember my dad ever playing chess! Poker, yes. LOL! My dad was my first hero, as is the case with most little girls, not my only hero. :) It is in retrospect that I write the words of the post.

Re: anibanerjee

Haven't read his novels, so I'll take your word on that and save myself some time! LOL! The poems are nice though.

Your Dad, your hero, sounds like a man I would have liked to have known...

Hardy, to me, can be boring when it comes to some of his novels, but I do love his poetry, like The Self-Unseeing and The Voice, where the word magic is simply beautiful.

Re: anibanerjee

Yep! At times. I have a silly streak - still. Hardy, yes, I see it. I do like him, though have not read as much of him as I would like. Thank you so much.

Do I see the childlike giggling in you? Great tribute on Father's Day. This reminds me of the lines from Hardy's The Self Unseeing which he wrote as a tribute to his father and Jemina Hand, his mom:

Childlike I danced I a dream/ Blessings emblazoned that day/ Everything gleamed with a gleam/ Yet we were looking away!

It as if opens a small window in time for us.

Re: Kabu

Thank you, dear Kabu. The years tend to do that, S. Sister.

How blessed a grown child is who looks back on child hood and gives such thanks. Beautifully written S. Sister.

What can one say, I could praise the daughter, but that would not seem right. He was your hero I believe and no one can doubt the love you had for him. Gently you  open yourself like a flower in spring.
