I'm sending you a huge, warm, Canadian HUG...and a smile with that.
I would send you some snow but it could take awhile....

I love your last paragraph. I'm so glad I can remember when, for me, times were like that.

I understand the allure of your 'retreatist' position, even if I do not (yet?) share it. Mine once was that of the 'detached observer' - an 'artificial' position ultimately untenable in the long run, even if it does provide insights otherwise not available.
I climbed down from those 'heights' when I realized there's something out there that threatens the very foundations of my freedom to choose such positions - so I have become a 'crusader', LOL...
And the biggest problem is not 'them' - it's us...

I suppose a young girl looks for love, perhaps education should provide clues as to whom one should avoid. Anyone who is jealous, anyone who at times seems spiteful and will pinch or punch even if it seems harmless. It is no use thinking they will change everyone is on there best behavior when out to get what the think they want. I would also include anyone scathing of one's family. Heavy drinkers gamblers and if you don't like the smell smokers. I don't know what young men should look out for, but that has passed me by. Others might appreciate your wisdom.
