I have never celebrated that day--not even when I had a dog. We would take her to the lake swimming with us. She was a golden retriever and she loved nothing better than to swim on a hot day.

I had no idea Bloomsday is celebrated at widely as it is. Wow! I like to read a bit of Burns' poetry on Robert Burns Day/Night so this must be akin to that! Bennie will be happier in the woods than in a pub, I am sure.

It's been so long since I read that book I've forgotten character & plot.
Probably too many soap operas and too much sci fi in the intervening years. A nice mellow shot of Bushmill's over ice sounds like an inviting idea, though - there's a heat index of 100 degrees F. here -- too hot to walk myself, let alone an innocent doggie.

Apparently thousands still celebrate the day, funny not much mention here. I suppose the fllm enlarged the audience. You are a learned man Naut. We ponder on Brexit and wonder why we want out when we are losing daily on shares.

You read some what sad and pensive. Take that boosiful doggie into the Woods and enjoy each other's company. I am sure that there will be a ball involved in the walk somehow.
Then treat yourself...
