It is amazing just how much technology ties into all of our lives.

Well, Kabu, part of my problem is the phrase, "they say."

The thing is, they don't really know she was doing that. I've also read she was dealing with several of her other crumb snatchers at the same time and the kid was supposed to keep his hand in her pocket the whole time. Again, the point is that no one knows, and more important, no one is that spot on all the time and it only takes a second for a kid to do what he's going to do if he takes a notion. And whether she's taking a selfie, or tying a shoe, or whatever, he seems to have been waiting for his chance to go for it. Which then begs the question, ok, then if he "warned" mom that he was going in to visit Mr. Gorilla, should she have just taken him home, in effect punishing him for letting his imagination run wild? Did anyone really think he would do it?

I guess I'm saying there are no clear cut answers except for maybe on Planet Strat, where for starters, there would not have been a zoo in the first place -- the critters would be roaming wild, free and unmolested.

The ultimate problem I have with this world and all the second guessers in it is that everyone appears to be just hell bent on casting everything in black and white, either/or terms. That's nice and tidy, for sure -- but really has nothing whatsoever to do with real life here on Planet Earth.

Never mind...just my inner curmudgeon  getting a little animated.

I ain't quite on board with this one...with kids at the Zoo, or any other really people intensive place, it isn't the time or place to be taking Selfies. There are really rotten humans prowling those places just as dangerous as the animals. Having said that, I wasn't the perfect mother either, I just got lucky once or twice.

And I believe the real responsiblity lies with the Zoo. First to child proof the enclosure cos wait for it. kids climb almost anything...and looking at that Silver back I believe he was protecting that baby. He dragged it by the arm They treat their own babies that way but when they killed him, he appeared to be protecting the child from all the hysteria.
