Nautikos
As a Protestant, I've never understood....and always been highly skeptical of....the whole concept of Pope's. I admit I have a difficult time being objective about anything about them beyond looking at them as "leaders" and whether or not they move things forward in positive ways or stymie the same. I agree, this man is a fool....and what's so frightening, is the power so many give him without question.

I suppose if one is of the Catholic faith , one tries to believe what the Pope says,
Sadly he is human.

I never thought about the angle of him simply giving up on Europe. That very well could be. Interestingly enough, Africa is a place that of which has been dealing with problems from Islam.

It definitely can happen here, and it will. The only question is when?...and will I still be here to see it happen?

The Pope seems to be a smart man, of course he is very smart to have gotten where he is. But politically he seems to be way to the left, and taking the climate change bait (human-caused, that is) hook, line and sinker. These are additional reasons I would call him a fool, in addition to Nautikos' reason. He may think he is following Jesus' example, but I would like to see something more along the lines of driving the money-changers and sheep-sellers out of the Temple with a whip!!

I, for one, don't think that it can't happen here.

Re: Nautikos
I don't hate the Pope, Wiley - I said he is a fool in trying to go 'ecumenical' with Islam...

I cannot help thinking that Pope Francis has taken his cue from
the One for whom his church was named - and that love as a goal beats war six ways to Sunday. I have to hope that his soft answers may turn away wrath - but I don't think the Islamist fundamentalists are interested in learning peace. Damn shame I'd say, if anybody ever asked me what I thought.

Alright, I'm sorry, you can hate the Pope if you like it just caught me in the remnants of my Catholicism.

Calling the Pope a fool would be an insult to any education you might have achieved

Off with his head said the Queen of Hearts...sometimes I feel as though I tumbled down Alice's rabbit hole and into another World.
