You are correct. It reminds me of when you brought how it is not insanity if it is the norm, and for this Nolen guy, this is the norm.

Another nail in the coffin of our national suicide

If this guy's lawyers get away with an insanity plea,  you are right,  the judge and court are insane.  Intentional predatory evil comes in religious flavors too, mostly Muslim these days.

I would like to insert a very relevant passage here from my post "A Theory of Justice":

"Evil people are labeled as  “disturbed”  or  “deranged”  or  “depraved”  or  “deprived”  or  “imbalanced”  or  “bipolar”  or  “psychotic”  or  “sick”  or  “crazy”  (certainly not  “evil”  because  “evil does not exist”).  They are called  “madmen”  or  “maniacs”  or  “sociopaths”  or  “psychopaths”,  and their violence is described as  “senseless”.  But they are not crazy,  and their violence makes a great deal of sense,  because it accomplishes the goals of their dominating,  destructive,  self-serving philosophy or religious doctrine.....  Evil people are not crazy or compelled,  they are extremely smart.  They are not hapless victims of their childhoods,  their genes,  their psyches,  their disorders,  etc.,  although they use these elements as their excuses,  and many educated fools listen to them."

Thanks,  Nautikos
