Great imagery, as they say! But in my words, it simply sounds like a picture of pastoral beauty and quiet calm. I can see the little boy, watching, thinking, walking along a bit behind them, perhaps... Yes, we women do indulge in quiet conversation with someone close and trusted, occasionally. You caught a rare moment or two; we usually wait until there are no children present. :)
