Sorry, I thought I had commented when I read this post! I don't grow avacado seeds into plants and then trees but I have done so. I do love those avacados. I don't know about the Muse; Chumpet is the one to ask...

Re: Kabu

Yes he is an okay chappie. I do so wish I could paint, I used to make flower pictures from everlasting flower petals. Sadly I never seem to do anything much. Doc said wear a tear

Re: CCT

Well thanks Naut. We are cat-less at present, I always follow Chumpet's advice he is thousands of years older than I am.

Re:

I'll keep you posted Ciel and of course you would make a fine Muse after you have finished your earthly projects. I know what it means if he grows the tree it will be another chore for me and accusations if the plant fails.

Re: FS

No he has his head screwed on the right way FS,. I did wonder when he first evolved out of a section of strange wood, but he felt right from the start.

CCT

I think you should follow Chumpet's advice! And as far as Arthur's avocado tree is concerned - why not? It's a very simple procedure! I even managed to start one myself some years ago, but then the cat got at it before it grew into a real tree, if I remember correctly...

Re: Pat

Yes It is fun to watch a new seed burst forth Pat. I think he looked on the net one has to root the avocado seed before planting. He has a bonsai tree at my place and I very often have to water it. He went everywhere Pat 15 years younger I labored to keep the  inheritance viable, or some of the siblings would not be enjoying retirement in a comfortable manner.

Mother had a green thumb, and she often set an avocado seed in a

glass jar on the window sill in the kitchen - she had better luck with sweet potatoes. They will vine forever. I wonder how much your brother owes you, CCT, for the kind of thinking that doctors of philosophy must nurture. You must have been an intellectual player in the game...

That is interesting about the tree...One never knows what Chumpet will say next.

Maybe I will come back as a Muse.

Good luck to Arthur with his 'cado tree. I always try every one that comes out of the fruit showing signs of life, and have had several that lasted a while. They have lovely long, oval leaves. But I haven't seen a likely seed for some time.

avacados are like banans all the sudden they are ripe and then rotten.  I love avacados
