Re: Re: Re: Kabu

Good thinking , I guess you have an affinity with pots. I thought it was strange Archie said he knew his wife couldn't cope with her dad's natural functions . I thought for 1K a week I could tend to an elephant, Well we ex-carers can do most things.

Re:

Hello RP yes it was true as far as I can remember. She raised my father. Her husband volunteered for war and was killed, The silly buggar she said to me once he was Irish and should have stayed out of it.

Quite right Naut in proper circles it should be Pasty , I expect we old rurals placed an emphasis on the a, and called them as such.

Re: Some need their feathers ruffled before they'll sing? New one,

Yes Pat we have to have little treats sometimes, or we wouldn't sing.

I love this post--the whole thing.  You have made me want something sweet and creamy and I have nothing like that here, so I think I will make me an evening pot of coffee and get into Son's bag of Cheetos Puffs.

A great poem and great story with Gran. True or not, it rings true. Some of us do like our sweets...

Yumm the food...Oh but I was brought up British. I go shopping and resolutely don't buy myself a treat. Then I spend the week scratching in the cupboards looking for treats. I think after grabbing the poem I shall go and make a cake.

CCT

Love it, especially the visit with Gran! And clearly, 'pasties' means something edible over there - not so on this side of the Atlantic. I mean, I have never seen an edible pastie, but these days - you never know, LOL...

Some need their feathers ruffled before they'll sing? New one,

and I like it. Also enjoy the creamy bites, I guess soft & sweet treats balance the hard parts of life.
