Old Homes

The kids and I have moved so many times. Our first real home we lived in was taken by the bank since the exhusband didnt want to pay the morgage or sell it. Ever so often the kids and I will drive by it and remember funny stuff. We would walk in the back alie too and look and see what they did to our once family back yard.

Let's hope the new house has owners who look after it...

It's a shame to allow a house to deteriorate in that fashion.

Things are always changing. I never go back to look where I once lived.

Re: FS.

Well folk here try to build on their gardens or anywhere appropriate. I actually remember a  thatched cottage on sale for just a couple of hundred pounds. One could not buy the old privy for that today.  As one retired couple recently said their house has increased in price 80 times since they were wed. Of course one has to take inflation into account.

This happens in certain neighborhoods here also. "Mansion-ization" is the term they use for it, in some cases. It's ok as long as it doesn't block someone else's view. Some areas have prohibited it.

🎨From the highway, it looks as if there’s at least one house built on the playground of my old street. I guess there must be four other tracts on the land.Bill’s R👀st

Son #3 and Grandson Phil live in an area where there are quite a few houses being sold as fixer-uppers.  He bought his almost twelve years ago and changed it completely.  Today he is closing on another really messed up house on a nice 300 ft lot.  He plans to fix it up and sell it for a good profit.  It will take him a while because Phil is only in day care for five hours a day.  But, there is no hurry.
