- Go to And in Houston: French teacher doesn't speak French
My second year French teacher told me I spoke French with a Spanish accent! And she was a Spanish teacher; meaning both of Spanish descent and a teacher who taught Spanish! I had not learned any Spanish at that time.

If a school is accredited and offering a class that counts
toward college admission for its students, then it is (or should be) fraud against the students if the teacher is not certified in the subject. And for those who simply want to learn the other language - it's a rotten, low-down dirty shame and the school administrators who perpetrate such abuse ought to be punished to the limit of the law.

Good story. I am sensitive to persons who are foreign language speakers (ESL), having heard two languages as a child. See, I didn't even phrase that correctly!

That sort of thing is old hat. When I was in high school, way back when, I took Spanish Language and I could already speak it better than the teacher. Every time I caught him in a mistake, or not knowing something, he would blush bright red. He couldn't even roll his "R's".
